Gill Beetle working on steep slope.
The Gill Beetle is the only drill of its kind that can produce hole sizes from 4" to 24" in diameter.  Now one machine can handle all your quarry drilling needs as well as any utility work, and evironmental and water well work.

WHATEVER THE ANGLE.
The Gill Beetle can drill holes at any angle from vertical to horizontalGill Beetle at work. with its flexible boom and mast.  Incline drilling and toe holes are also no problem with the unique boom and mast design.  The Gill Beetle can drill parallel to the ground at a minimum height of only 18 inches (45 cm).

EASY DRILL PIPE CHANGES.
The standard breakout carousel holds six pieces of 1- foot (3.05 m) 3-/12" or 4" O.D. drill pipe and is attatched to the mast for easier handling.  An optional carousel which holds six pieces of 12 foot (3.66 m) 3-1/2" or 4" O.D. drill pipe is also available.  A power wrench, hydraulically operated, installed at the foot of the mast eases joint breaking.

DUST CONTROL.
A standard water injection system helps control dust.  An optional dust collector with replaceable catridge type filters and pre-separator is also available.

LUBRICATOR
Two or three heavy duty precision metering pumps attatched to the lubricator injectGill Beetle on top of hill. small flows of oil into the hammer, increasing tool life and productivity.

HEAVY DUTY CRAWLER SYSTEM.
The Gill Beetle can handle even the toughest ground conditions including slopes up to 30 degrees.  The direct drive crawlers, hydraulically powered, can get the drill where you need it.  If slope conditions are frequently encountered, the optional winch provides additional safety.

DUAL MOTOR ROTARY HEAD.
The Gill Beetle's powerful hydraulic rotary head provides adjustable rotation from 0 to 60 r.p.m. with smooth and instantaneous torque up to 6000 ft.lbs. for precise control under difficult drilling conditions.

RELIABLE POWER.
The Gill Beetle is powered by either a Cummins 4BT 3.9P diesel engine or a GMC 3-53 Detroit diesel engine that drives a Commercial three-stage gear pump.  Both have a history of superior performance and reliability.

REMOTE CONTROL OPTION.Gill Beetle on construction site.
By placing an extra set of controls right next to the mast, the drill operator can change pipe unassisted, increasing the flexibility of the drilling operation.

OPERATOR CABINE OPTION.
With this option, the drill operator works in a quiet, climate-controlled environment.

LOW COST OF OWNERSHIP.
Low initial capital outlay combined with reduced costs for site preparation substantially reduce drilling costs.  The 900/350 air capacity makes the Gill Beetle a small Gill Beetle on steep rocky slope.drill with large drill capabilities resulting in higher production than similar small drills.
The Gill Beetle can put the hole exactly where you want it, quickly and efficiently, without leveling jacks or major site preparation.  The Gill Beetle is one machine that can preform all your drilling needs from 4" to 24" holes in any location, even inside buildins.
Sturdy construction and simple design make the Gill Beetle both durable and practical.  Most importantly, you can always rely on Gill Rock Drill Company to provide the training and technical support you need.

ALL TERRAIN CAPABILITYGill Beetle in mud.
The compressed air supply is separate from the drill.  This allows the air supply to be positioned away from the dust and vibration of drilling while allowing the drill to operate on slopes, pinnacles, and narrow benches without leveling jacks.
Heavy duty crawlers, hydraulically powered, give the Gill Beetle maximum manueverability over the roughest terrain.  The low center of gravity makes the Gill Beetle extremely stable on uneven ground.  With the optional winch, the Gill Beetle can drill on extremely steep slopes.
