    The AW-80 utility air winch offers effective lifting and tugging power in a bantamweight, readily portable unit that can be handled and set up easily by one person.  Rated rope pull is 1000 lbs. at 40 ft. per minute rope speed.  The weight of the AW-80 winch complete with column clamps is only 90 lbs. and it can be mounted on any flat surface or clamped to a bar, post, or pipe.  The unit has many uses as a utility hoist in construction, industry, and mining.

    The winch is powered by a unique, Joy-built four-cylinder air motor to provide safe, efficient, accurate control over load handling.  Performance data and specifications on reverse side.


    A reversible, four-cylinder, scotch-yoke air motor powers the AW-80 air winch.  The high torque motor has only two operating parts - a pair of double-headed pistons that reciprocate in a smooth, balanced cycle for optimum efficiency.  With few moving parts and ball bearing construction, the air motor requires virtually no care.

    Even lubrication is attended to automatically.  The motor is designed to be oil mist lubricaed by a line oiler; oil changes are unnecessary.

    Sensitive single throttle control provides variable speed and instant reversibility for safe and precise load handling.  Furthermore, the motor cannot be damaged by overload, stalling, or sustained lugging.  It operates without danger in gaseous areas and is practically unaffected by moisture, heat, or corrosive atmospheres.


    The AW-80 air winch features all steel construction with heat treated alloy steel shafts and precision machined and hardened steel gearing.  The fully enclosed double reduction spur gear set is supported on grease lubricated ball bearings and the gear case is sealed to retain lubricant and keep out dirt and moisture.  The rope drum turns on sealed-for-life grease lubricated ball bearings.  Sturdy, sealed construction assures minimum maintenance.


    Single throttle control provides variable speed and instant reversibility for easy load manipulation.  The throttle is springloaded "off" for safety.  A fully enclosed band brake is used to stop and hold the load in place.  The brake band is held in place by a single bolt for easy replacement of the lining when required.
