Pioneer Super Deliquescent Dryers
Why a Super Deliquescent Dryer?
Pioneer Super Deliquescent Dryers are the only deliquescent dryers capable of suppressing, or reducing, compressed air dew points by up to 70°F. This is important because Dew Point is the temperature at which moisture begins to condense. In a compressed air system, measurement of the Dew Point under pressure is called the Pressure Dew Point (PDP). Knowing the needed PDP is critical for the proper sizing and operation of your Super Deliquescent Dryer.
A Super Deliquescent Dryer requires minimum capital outlay. It is easy to install and requires little maintenance. And it will, in most cases, pay for itself in one year or less, with reduced maintenance costs and down time.
PIONEER Advantages
- Energy Efficient - No energy consuming equipment is part of the basic dryer.
- Low Pressure Drop - Only 1% drop in the operating pressure
- Exceptional Reliability - No moving parts to fail in Pioneer's simple design.
- Minimum Desiccant Consumption - More than half of the moisture is removed in the first three steps of the drying process, none of which require additional desiccant. This reduces the desiccant usage, per pound of water removed, to less than half that of competitive systems.
- Minimum Maintenance - Inspect your Super Deliquescent Dryer about once a week to maintain desiccant at or above the sight glass level.
- No Drain Clogging - The drain flows freely because the condensate from the dryer is free of large solid particles.

Four-Step Drying Process for Superior Performance

STEP 1
Incoming air/gas enters the vessel near the base and passes through the separator section. Due to expansion, free liquids drop to the bottom of the chamber.
STEP 2
As the air/gas moves over the first tray it comes in contact with a desiccant and water mixture. It dries by the process of liquid absorption.
STEP 3
The second tray further reduces the moisture in the air/gas by the process of liquid absorption.
STEP 4
The air reaches its final and most thorough drying process by flowing over solid Veri-Dri 40 Plus desiccant briquettes.
Trays capture solids in the Super Deliquescent
Dryer, so that the condensate, free of solids, flows
over the trays thus preventing drain clogging.
